About the Event
Come see us at the Umbrella Arts Festival! We'll be making lanterns for the Community Lantern Festival on May 30th at Arrington Lagoon. The Umbrella Arts Festival is a celebration of our local Asian, South Asian, Pacific Islander American community. There will be food, music, dance performances and art making activities for all ages!
Once you make your lantern you can bring it to the Community Lantern Festival in honor of ASPA Heritage Month and Memorial Day. The event is inspired by the lantern festivals and traditions found across Asia, South Asia and the Pacific Islands. This event offers community members a chance to come together with others to honor, remember, celebrate, and commemorate through a collective act of floating lanterns on the Lagoon.
