Come to the Evanston Ecology Center at 2024 McCormick Blvd this Saturday, April 23rd from 10-noon and join in all the Earth Day festivities! We are so pleased to announce that the public art piece created by Justin Wynn Scholars, local middle school leaders and activists, will be on display this weekend through the end of April in honor of Art for the Earth Month on the Ecology Center grounds.
See the Justin Wynn public art piece and pick up a native seed orb to plant in our community!
We were thankful to host the Justin Wynn students at Studio 3 exploring climate change awareness in our schools and community. The group utilized a repurposed desk from Evanston Rebuilding Warehouse to create a public art piece calling attention to the harms of plastic use, ongoing waste production and expressing the urgency to ACT NOW! We love that the voices of these student leaders are teaching our community. The Justin Wynners also made seed orbs with native wildflower seeds as a gift to the community. Justin Wynn Fund's mission is to celebrate and nurture youth leaders by supporting their development of service and civic responsibility.
The day after Earth Day, the Evanston Ecology Center is hosting an event featuring a range of family-friendly activities, including a seed swap with Edible Evanston, learn about great books to inspire kids to enjoy and act on behalf of the Earth with the Evanston Public Library, join in the Evanston Environmental Association’s Bird Buzz Native Plant Sale and create Ephemeral Nature Art!
Hope to see you this Saturday at the Ecology Center and re-commit ourselves to the urgent work of climate action and justice. Celebrate & Act for Earth Day Everyday!
