Join us for some fun and free events this First Saturday in Evanston at Studio 3:
Open Studio on Apr 02, 10:00 AM – Noon
Character Development Workshop with Pam & Tina from the Visibility Arts Program on Apr 02, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Learn how to take an idea of a character and develop it into an image. Your character can develop into a potential graphic novel or a piece to frame and put up on your wall. This workshop is offered in collaboration with the Visibility Arts program of Search, Inc.
Visibility Arts provides opportunities for self-expression, creativity, and achievement for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Lead by Visibility Artist, Pam, the workshop will show different strategies and methods to come up with a character. Once you identify your idea, you will be lead on how to evolve or enhance your character in a visual drawing. All materials are included to create your own image. Makers of all ages and abilities are welcome. No previous art experience is required. Space is limited, please follow this link to RSVP.
You can also enjoy the exhibition offered by the Visibility Artists, on the theme of their annual NeurodiVESED campaign and community connection, currently on display in the gallery. The NeurodiVESED awareness campaign was designed to give people who think differently a voice and to educate the community on mental health and intellectual disabilities.
Kids Create Change strives to provide free programming in an effort to make the arts available to all people. There is no charge for this workshop but we do accept donations to help us continue this mission. If you are able to contribute, $10 covers the cost for art materials for one participant and $25 includes materials and artist fees. Any amount is much appreciated!
*As an act of mutual care and responsibility masks are required at all Studio 3 events.
